ShadowPOS Monthly Update 5/25/26
Hello and welcome to the shiny new non-release notes ShadowPOS blog! With the influx of rapid changes, we figured it was about time to start letting y’all know a little more about us and our processes as well as the nitty gritty tech stuff.
I’ll kick it off with an introduction: I’m Hannah! You may have seen me starting to help out in the Discord. I’m the newest addition to the team, and I’m mostly going to be focusing on support in all the various ways. I’ve been in the industry since 2014, but I’ve been collecting since the ripe age of 9, starting with Pokemon Base Set (please don’t ask me if I still have any of those cards, it’s still a sore subject, I’m sure a lot of you can relate). I’m excited to be here, and I can’t wait to get to know everyone!
Back in March, we were lucky enough to attend GAMA Expo, where we met a lot of our current (and hopefully future) users. It’s always a blast getting to see how much the LGS community is thriving, I know my first GAMA was eye opening!

Some of the crew were even lucky enough to participate in the road trip to and from Louisville, which was quite the bonding experience for all involved:

Newest member of the team!
Energized from such a great trip and the conversations with all you lovely folks, the developers have been hard at work adding some new features and fixing bugs.
New and improved features:
- Refunds revamped!
- Order tagging!!
- Beta release of calculated shipping!!!
Lastly, I had a chat with our very own Dustin Arnold, ShadowPOS’s top salesman and the owner of Meta TCG.

What made you want to get into the industry?
I just really like buying and selling cards and for that matter reselling in general. Garage sales, thrifting, estate sales, all of it. I could be a billionaire and still pull off to the side of the road for an estate sale sign.
First game?
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Do you still get to play?
I play when I can, mostly when we’re on the road for shows at the Airbnbs or whatever. I really like the old formats and I’ll play Magic if I can find anyone who’ll play anything non-Commander.
I know going to shows is a big part of your business. What do you like about going to shows/cons?
You never know what you’re going to see or encounter, particularly in a different city. The next person could have a single row box of power nines for all you know. And it’s always fun interacting with serious collectors who are looking to complete their master set.
What advice would you give to stores looking into travelling to shows?
Keeping overhead low is the big one. You don’t need the largest booth size, rent a car instead of Ubering, whatever you can do because travelling is the biggest expense. And whatever you want your sales to be you should bring 5x that dollar amount of inventory, so you may want to focus on more expensive products.
What’s your favorite feature on ShadowPOS?
Label printer. Being able to price things in the glass case and at shows without manually updating them is insanely helpful.
What’s your favorite part of going to a local game store?
Being inspired by other stores' processes and layouts, it’s crazy how different every store is. As a player it’s the sense of community. No matter where it is, if I go into a Friday Night Magic for example, it feels familiar and like I know everyone there.
And I think that’s a great note to end on! If you’d like to check out Dustin’s store, you can take a gander on Instagram, Facebook, and his (ShadowPOS) website.
As always, thank y’all so much for being a part of the ShadowPOS community and we look forward to helping you and the industry grow!
